The SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) is a train-and-place programme that supports mid-career individuals in acquiring industry-relevant skills to improve employability and pivot to new sectors or job roles.
The SCTP programme is open to all Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents and Long Term Visit Pass Plus holders (LTVP+). As the employment status of the learner is not an eligibility criterion for SCTP, both unemployed and employed individuals can participate in SCTP courses. The programme also does not place any constraints on learners’ activities outside training hours, including taking on part-time employment, as long as they continue to fulfil all the training commitments which include minimum course attendance and the passing of assessments.
Learners must be at least 21 years old in the calendar year of programme commencement to be eligible for SCTP.
However, do note that submitting an application does not guarantee a place in the course. Acceptance into the course will be subjected to ACI's evaluation of each applicant's suitability, taking into account factors such as the physical demands of the training and the learner's ability to benefit from the programme and eventually secure a job placement.

Minimum age eligibility is set at 40 years old and is based on birth year, not the date of birth. For example, if the individual turns 40 years old on 1 April 2025 and applies for a Full-time SCTP on 1 January 2025, he/she will be eligible for TA.
The Training Allowance is credited into your PayNow account linked to your NRIC only.
*PayNow to NRIC is mandatory
TA is currently available only for individuals pursuing a full-time SCTP with a min average of (i) course duration of no less than 3 months and (ii) a monthly average of 90 training contact hours. For part-time mode, TA shall be introduced in 2026.
No. You should not have an active TA application tagged to another course or currently receiving TA.
TA is computed based on 50% of one’s average monthly income over the latest available 12-month period, capped at $3,000 per month. For a more accurate estimation on your TA eligibility and amount, please visit https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg/content/portal/en/e-services/e-services.html to check using the Training Allowance Calculator available for more accurate sensing.
TA quantum is computed based on the income records available over the latest available 12-month period. If there is no income during this period, the computed TA will be zero and hence the individual will not be entitled to any TA. Applicants are recommended to visit MySkillsFuture Portal at https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg/content/portal/en/e-services/e-services.html to check using the Training Allowance Calculator available for a better sensing.
Make-up sessions must be completed by the following month from the original module start date. If the make-up sessions cannot be completed within the time period (30days from module start date), the trainee will not be eligible for TA.
Individuals are responsible for ensuring they have access to Singpass with a mobile device (working phone camera & data plan) to capture attendance at each session. Failure to clock in a minimum of 75% attendance will deem the learner as ineligible for TA.
If you missed class with a valid reason but attendance falls below 75%, you must complete the make-up session to maintain 75% attendance. Do note that an individual will not be eligible for TA if attendance falls below 75%.
Should you miss class and still achieve 75% attendance, no make-up session is required. However, you are encouraged to check-in with your trainer on the specific topic you have missed out on during class.
As SCTP operates on a Train-and-Place modality, ACI will provide career advisory and employment assistance to help learners in their job search in Food Services sector or related job roles. However, there is no guarantee of a job placement, and learners would need to be open to the job opportunities available.
SCTP trainees will receive the following support:
Trainees shall attend the necessary events and briefings conducted by ACI.
Upon completing the SCTP, participants are expected to secure employment in roles aligned with their training. For this programme, placement is defined as:
