New World wine is produced basically anywhere in the world that can grow grapes and is not in Europe. For example, the United States, Australia, India, China, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina and Chile all produce New World wine. Many of these places are warmer, so the grapes are raised in hotter and more humid climates and with richer soils. These factors typically lead to a fuller body, and more fruit-forward flavours. These wines boast vibrant flavours, innovation, and a contemporary twist.

This Wines of The New World 2-day class brings together the appreciation of wines with emerging trends, study of viticulture, vinification and techniques of wine tasting. It includes the knowledge and skills in understanding the information on wine labels, flavours and characteristics of still and sparkling wines from the New World region.

Join this wine class and learn how to evaluate flavours and characteristics based on vinification and viticulture processes across different regions. Expand your tasting repertoire and learn all about the New World.

YOUNGSTERS/STUDENTS STILL STUDYING IN MOE INSTITUTIONS ARE ENTITLED TO COURSE FEE SUBSIDIES FROM SSG ONLY IF THEY INTEND TO JOIN THE F&B INDUSTRY.

Entry Requirements:

Education : Minimum Lower Secondary education or WPLN level 4

Language : Basic Proficiency in Written and Spoken English 

  • Trainees are required to clean up after class.
  • Attendance is required for all programmes (WSQ and non WSQ  Courses).
  • There will be written and practical assessments for all WSQ Courses.
     

 

All our courses are full days and requires standing in the kitchen the entire time.

Please note that our kitchens are designed to accommodate 24 Trainees with 3 Trainees sharing one work-station. With relaxation of Covid measures, we have reverted to conducting classes at full capacity of 24 pax. 请注意本学院的厨房可容纳 24 名学员。其中 3 名学员共用一个工作站。随着 Covid-19 措施的放松,本学院已恢复为 24 名学员上课。

^The date of withdrawal will be based on the date the request for withdrawal is lodged by the trainee.
